Saying goodbye to a loved one is a profound moment in life, and everyone processes it in their own way. By creating handmade urns, I give meaning to this process by crafting personal and custom-made pieces. My work is not just a craft; it is a way to support people in their grief and remembrance.
Each urn I create is crafted with care, attention, and love. Since I work exclusively on commission, I can tailor the urn to the wishes of the bereaved. Whether it's a specific color, shape, or another personal detail, together we create something unique and meaningful.
When making an urn, I aim for it to be not only a functional object but also a piece of art—something shaped with care and attention. An urn should not be a standard product but a reflection of the person being remembered. That’s why I enjoy having conversations with those who wish to have an urn made. These discussions can be either by phone or in person, so we can explore the best possibilities and I can gain a clear understanding of what is important in this process. I often hear special stories and emotions, and I know that I am creating something valuable.
In addition to urns, I also create other memorial objects in which I incorporate ashes upon request. These can range from small vases to candle holders and even tiny 'hug stones' for children, which can easily be held and glazed in a beautiful color.
