Every time the kiln opens, it’s exciting—like unwrapping a gift when you don’t exactly know what’s inside. Especially now, with my new kiln, it feels like discovering everything all over again. How will the glazes react? How will the shapes behave with a different heat distribution? It’s almost as if I’m getting to know my work anew.

I’m incredibly happy with what came out of the kiln. The colors are rich and vibrant, the glazes have a beautiful depth, and the textures come alive beautifully. Some pieces really surprise me—whether in shape, color, or simply by the presence they have. It remains an exciting process, because a new kiln requires patience and care. But that’s exactly what makes it so fascinating: every firing is an opportunity to discover something new.

Soon, I’ll start working with test tiles to get even better control over the firing process. Because the better I understand the kiln, the more precisely I can work toward exactly what I have in mind—or sometimes even something more beautiful than I expected.
