How do you style those cute mini vases? I get that question quite often when I’m at markets. The mini vases always catch the eye; almost everyone likes them, but some people don't quite know how to give something so small a good spot in their home where it really comes into its own. And I completely understand that, because many small items together can quickly look cluttered, and besides, something of this size can easily get lost. That would be a shame.
The fun and practical thing about mini vases is precisely that they are small. There is almost always a spot to be found for one. And because of their size, it is also great fun to choose a color that is different from the rest of your decor. They won't be overpowering, but they do add a playful contrast. If you prefer to stick to a single color, take a look at the colors already present in your home. Is there, for example, an accent color used somewhere in the room? You could incorporate that into a mini vase. But suppose your room mainly features red and brown tones; then you could also do something completely different and use blue. That creates a very surprising effect!
If you combine multiple mini vases, I would personally always go for different shapes and sizes. Preferably, do not choose 3 vases with a busy color pattern, but rather, for example, 1 more flamboyant one and 2 that are more subdued. Or 3 vases in a similar color, but perhaps light and dark. Of course, this is very personal. Sometimes I am enormously surprised by the combinations customers create!
Finally, I like to place the mini vases on something so they have a sort of stage. That could be a stack of beautiful books, a piece of wood, a small ceramic tray… There are all sorts of things you can find! They also look lovely next to a beautiful find from nature, or with a feather inside instead of flowers, for example. And they also come into their own next to a photo or card. You can keep playing with the mini vases!
